QUEENSLAND ORGANISATIONS
There are a number of organisations in Queensland that provide important information on legal and non-legal planning arrangements that families and carers may consider as part of their overall plan or vision for the person they care for.
Below is a list of organisations that may be able to provide you with useful information, help or assistance:
CARERS QUEENSLAND
Carers Queensland is a not-for-profit, non-Government organisation dedicated to supporting carers in Queensland through:
- the provision of information and support
- community development and
- counselling
Carers Queensland is also committed to advancing the recognition of the role of carers through ongoing advocacy, negotiation and communication with Government (at all levels), Service Providers and other Community Agencies.

LIFEWAYS
Lifeways is a Queensland organisation established to assist ageing parents of a person with a disability to answer the question: "What happens when we/I can no longer care?" Lifeways provide information through seminars on aspects of planning for families.
PAVE THE WAY, Mamre Association Inc
Pave the Way is part of Mamre Association, a Brisbane based family support organisation for families with a family member with a disability.
Pave the Way assists families throughout Queensland to clarify their vision for their family member with a disability and to plan to implement that vision.
Pave the Way encourages planning which is vision driven, "whole of life", developmental, outside service planning and which safeguards family members in the long term.

SAILS, Caxton Legal Centre
The Seniors' Advocacy, Information and Legal Service (SAILS) helps people aged 60 and over that are at risk of abuse from another party who is a family member (other than a husband or wife) or an informal carer.

Parent 2 Parent, Disability Services Queensland
Parent 2 Parent, funded by Disability Services Queensland, provides Succession Planning opportunities to families who have a member with a disability and for people with disabilities.

Disability Carers Family Relationship Service, Centracare
Disability Carers Family Relationship Service offers counselling and mediation to the families and carers of severely disabled people. The service aims to provide support and assistance to help families negotiate periods of stress and crisis in the provision of care to their disabled family member.

Carer Connect, ARAFMI Queensland
Carer Connect, funded by Disability Services Queensland, is a program of flexible one-on-one support for carers of people who have a psychiatric disability, with a focus on ageing carers. The program is available to persons living in the greater Brisbane area who are voluntarily caring for someone with a psychiatric disability.
